Dear Friends of Music,
It is with deep emotion and a strong sense of responsibility that we present to you the 2025 edition of the Lucignano Music Festival, which will take place from September 17th to 21st, under the title “War and Peace.”
In a time marked by global tensions and conflicts both near and far, we feel the urgent need to turn to music — to reflect, to remember, and above all, to imagine. The theme that will guide us, as ancient as it is timely, touches the deepest chords of the human condition: contrast, loss, and the ever-present possibility of rebirth, dialogue, and hope.
Over five days of concerts, talks, and dance, the Festival will breathe new life into the historic spaces of Lucignano — a town that holds beauty and memory within its walls. I will be joined on stage by extraordinary international artists such as Tommaso Lonquich, Daniel Blendulf, Jürg Dähler, Alessandra Ammara, and Roberto Prosseda, with programs designed not only to move the soul, but to question and inspire.
Saturday evening will be a true celebration of life and the energy of the body in motion, featuring Lindy Hop dancers Alice Forzoni and Lorenzo Banchi, along with the irresistible swing rhythms of the SwingTet led by Sergio Aloisio Rizzo — outstanding talents from the Tuscan region who will bring us the collective joy of dance and music.
Alongside the artistic programming, the Festival renews its social and cultural commitment to the local community, with events dedicated to elementary and middle schools, as well as the local retirement home — precious moments where music becomes a bridge between generations, between past and future.
Our goal is clear: to bring music back to the center of civic discourse — as a space for listening and awareness. Every note, every gesture on stage is meant as an invitation to reflect, a poetic act of resistance, a bridge between personal emotions and collective reality.
Thanks as always to Mayor Roberta Casini and the entire city administration for their cooperation in making this project happen, and special thanks to Stefano Cresti who once again gave us impactful graphics.
We warmly invite you to join us on this journey through the shadows and lights of our time, trusting that art can still, with both strength and delicacy, remind us of what makes us human.
Enjoy the Festival!
With love,
Irene Abrigo
Artistic Director of the Lucignano Music Festival
