
Daniel Blendulf
Violoncello
Daniel Blendulf, originally from Sweden, studied cello with Torleif Thedéen at the Edsberg Music Institute in Stockholm and completed his studies under Heinrich Schiff at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. In 2006, he was honored as an ECHO Rising Star, which enabled him to perform in numerous major concert halls across Europe as well as the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York.
As a soloist, he has performed with renowned conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Jesús López Cobos, and Andrew Manze. He has been a member of the Zkvartett string quartet, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra under Claudio Abbado.
His chamber music partners include Amihai Grosz, Janine Jansen, and Denis Kozhukhin. He performs at major festivals such as the Verbier Festival, the Utrecht Chamber Music Festival, the Røros Festival, and the Sion Festival.
Other chamber music projects take him regularly to venues such as the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Luxembourg Philharmonie, and the renowned Wigmore Hall in London.
As a conductor, Daniel Blendulf has worked with the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Detroit Symphony, the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, the Swedish Radio Orchestra, the Camerata Salzburg, and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. He served as chief conductor of the Dalasinfoniettan.
