There are stories that begin with a spark, and the one between Alice and Lollo is exactly that. Not only their personal story, but also their love affair with the world of swing. It was 2011 when, almost as a game, they took their first steps in Lindy Hop together. From that moment on, dance became the common thread of their lives: a shared passion that soon turned into a vocation—and then into a concrete project.

In 2015, they founded Swing Mood, a dance school and cultural association based in Tuscany, which over the years has become a key reference point for the Italian swing scene. But Swing Mood is not just a place to learn how to dance: it’s a vibrant, welcoming community that perfectly reflects the personalities of its two founders.

Lollo, aka Lorenzo Banchi, is the driving energy and rhythmic heart of the project. His love for Balboa—especially the more “pure” and musical version of the style—led him to specialize at a European level, eventually becoming one of the few teachers in Italy to offer it in an authentic and in-depth way. With a mix of Tuscan humor and technical precision, Lollo teaches Lindy Hop and Balboa with both lightness and accuracy. But he’s not just a teacher: he’s also the artistic director, sound engineer, DJ (under the legendary alias DJ Portofino), and event organizer behind some of the most iconic happenings in the Italian swing scene—from the Tuscany Balboa Weekend to the Lindy Rave Camp, from Crazy Blues to the Vintage Festival.

Alice Forzoni, on her part, is the organizational mind and the quiet—but incredibly powerful—engine behind Swing Mood. A passionate teacher of Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz, Charleston, and Balboa, Alice is known for her ability to bring order, structure, and beauty to everything she touches. She takes care of administration, social media, visual communication, and educational planning, with rare sensitivity and a keen eye for detail. She’s the one who “keeps it all together,” with balance and decisiveness, turning every event into a thoughtful and harmonious experience. And then there’s her inclusive spirit: the one that leads her to organize sharing circles, singing sessions, and community conversations—making Swing Mood not just a dance school, but a space for deep connection.

Together, Alice and Lollo are the essence of swing lived with authenticity. They complement each other, inspire each other, tease each other. And above all, they build. In over ten years of shared work, they have created a world made of live music, social dancing, high-quality teaching, and genuine warmth. A world where people come to learn to dance… and stay because they feel part of something.

Because in the end, with Alice and Lollo, it’s not just about dancing: it’s about living the swing. And living it well.
